So education is pretty much the future of a prosperous society and the minds and lives of our kids. In an ever changing world, where all of mankind stands on the brink of massive changes it is important to relook at our educational system and re-frame it to prepare for the unknown demands of the future. In a country like South Africa where the role of education to shape the future for our nation can not be overstated, it is high time we take the bull by the horn and redefine our schooling curriculum.

The type of manner in which the current curriculum of the South African education schooling system has indeed taught our children the basics of life. However, in an age of fast-paced technological breakthroughs, automation, entrepreneurship, and other disruptive elements, it is time to question if our curriculum prepares students to best face those challenges.

Picture a program where our children are not only educated in the conventional curriculum subject but are also provided elaborate information about financial literacy (investing in the stock market), entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, AI, automation and hand on social skills. So, bringing in a curriculum of the future of it will keep our students up to the mark for the upcoming opportunities and challenges as well.

By designing entrepreneurial knowledge end entrepreneurship exposure into the scheme of work, innovation, critical thinking; and problem solving would be nurtured. It enables students to be creators, not just job creators, or changemakers. It emphasizes that investing in the stock market is educational and promotes the importance of financial literacy and economic independence. Sustainable farming and other practices that lead to self-sufficiency and food security are taught to the students in the agricultural sector.

In addition, an education in technology, AI and automation helps students become ready for the digital revolution and into opportunities beyond the imagination. As industries are redefined by technological advancements, our students need skills to succeed in a rapidly-changing world. By integrating technology and AI education, we give students the means not just to use technology but to also grapple with its ethical considerations and leverage its innovation capability.

Secondary soft skills also consist of social skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence. The skills are important to promote understanding, collaboration and effective communication in a diverse and connected world. If social skills are built into the curriculum, it makes for a more well-rounded person, who goes out and can make a living and adapt to different social or professional situations.

For this transformative change to take place, it is vital for multiple stakeholders, including educators, policy-makers, siblings, parents, and the community, to work together to rally for a curriculum that mirrors the rapidly changing needs of our society. Better dialog, better collaboration is the way to include all the voices in determining the future of our education.

Reimagining our education, and with it the mindset of a curriculum, future-focused on skills and professional success but also fostering creativity in our students. Education is the tool by which we can equip the future generation to face adversities, take and create opportunities and positively contribute towards the growth of our nation.

Imagine a South African education system that teaches how to acquire knowledge and create new innovation in the next tech-deter era. An elaborate curriculum focusing on investing, entrepreneurship, agriculture, technology, AI, automation, as well as social skills, stimulates a bigger picture for a prospering society. Working together, let us fight for an education that will allow our children to succeed in a fast changing world, and an education that will allow them to lead the future, and change the world.
